- Do you charge for uploads? No. Uploads and Class A calls are free.
- Do you charge for deletes? No, and there is no minimum storage duration.
- Is there a minimum object size charge? No.
- What counts as egress? Data downloaded from B2; free up to 3x your monthly average stored, then $0.01/GB.
- Which destinations are always free? Fastly, Cloudflare, bunny.net, CacheFly, CoreWeave, Equinix Metal, Vultr, phoenixNAP.
- Is there a cold tier? No. Everything is hot, priced below most providers’ cool tiers.
- Can I pick my region? Yes, at account creation: US West, US East, EU Central, CA East. It cannot be changed later.
- Can I store in two regions? Yes, with a second account and Cloud Replication.
- Is my data encrypted? New uploads are encrypted with SSE-B2 (AES-256) by default since Sep 14 2026; SSE-C is available.
- Can I hold my own keys? Yes, with SSE-C or client-side encryption.
- How do I make backups immutable? Enable Object Lock on the bucket and set retention in your backup software.

- Can I trigger functions on upload? Yes, Event Notifications (webhooks), enabled on request.

- How fast is it? Depends on parallelism and network; Overdrive offers dedicated 100 Gbps to 1 Tbps.
- How do I move 500 TB in? Universal Data Migration (with commitment), rclone at high parallelism, or Fireball (96 TB per unit).
- Will you help pay for migration? Universal Data Migration can offset egress and transfer costs with a qualifying commitment.
- How is migration verified? MD5 byte-for-byte verification per Backblaze.
- Do you sign BAAs? Yes, for covered entities on request.
